I was sitting thinking about how delicious and thrilling it is to launch yourself at an ambition in life, with all that energy of being super motivated in a moment. Then how so often this energy drops off, as the "super high" falls away and the intensity is unsustainable. We regroup and go again. You know the cycle.
I drew it as I saw it.
Thinking about how so much more is achieved with that motivation harnessed, after the initial delicious "high" of finding/doing something you love, Consistency becomes the key to success.
Consistency comes from showing up regularly, not trying to achieve too much too soon, having a framework to learn and progress through, and most importantly, recognising and spending time with each stage of achievement.
Both ingredients are needed in your practice. Fully open doors of motivation and the steady paced steps of consistency. Create the time and space to be on the mat or in the studio and then recognise and celebrate your steady achievements. We roll along the "feelgood highway" at a steady pace, noticing the cows in the field and stopping at the cafes along the way.
