Did you know that Joe Pilates named his exercise system, Contrology. His book on wellbeing was titled "Return to Life Through Contrology. Like so many pioneers teaching "movement for health", he was influenced by the wellbeing movements of the early 20th century in Europe. These were many, and also the early yoga, tai chi etc influences, were showing up from the East. Over time he observed, tried and developed his own way. He was a mixologist of health approaches, and adding his own beliefs, he came up with Contrology.
Here at the Team HOi studio we are heavily influence by the classical Contrology approach and we have developed a healthy "mixology" ourselves. Classical Pilates influence, contemporary movement sessions, a big shake of mindset sessions. Plus that "special' ingredient, which is "just us". More on the history of how we came "to do what we do" soon, but for now, if anyone asks, what you do?
